I tried to stick with it and finish it all, but it's just completely aggravating and un-fun. JetDog Studios makes some AWESOME time management games (their Hercules franchise, as well as their Alicia Quatermain games), but this one falls flat. It introduces a bit of a city-building element to the whole time management schtick, similar to what Cateia Games did with their Country Tales and Kingdom Tales games, but with Archimedes, it doesn't work well. First of all, there are no difficulty settings; There is only the default difficulty...which seems to be pretty darn difficult on many of the levels!. Because of this, there seems to be essentially no margin for error. Things must be done in a very specific order, and it seems that even the slightest deviation will doom you. After hours of trial and error, razing starting structures, re-building them, razing them, racing to juggle all these variables, and trying numerous variations to complete the levels with three stars...I still end up getting hosed. Even when I follow their in-game guide to a T, I still often struggle to get three, or even two stars. Yeah, yeah...I know, I know...get gud. Well, I am good at all of their other time management games, as well as other games of this type\/genre (such as Cateia's titles, among others), but this one eludes me. It makes me think maybe the difficulty curve in this game is a bit skewed. Anyway, Archimedes has just ended up being an exercise in frustration and futility for me. If you like time management games, I'd highly recommed JetDog's other titles in this genre. But skip Archimedes -- it just plain sucks.. A surprisingly decent game for what it is, a vaguely strategy-game-like puzzle game where the goal is to build structures, gather resources and use your workers in the most efficient way possible to complete objectives within a time limit. Not exactly a super-casual experience for those who are high-score hungry (because Gold Rankings quite quickly start demanding well planned routes), but a good pick-up for the enjoyable challenge, bouncy soundtrack and pretty appealing graphics. Runs on anything too. Similar to Jet Dogs' dudes-on-roads offerings (especially the 12 Labours of Hercules series), but with a bit more of a city-building feel. Only flaw is no untimed "Casual" difficulty (there is, in fact, only a single difficulty). All-in-all, a fun, colorful, casual little stragegy game. Fullscreen works find on multiple monitors. Runs great on Steamplay (Mint 18.2 Nvidia 384.130 GTX 1060).. it's at best only half as good as the Heracles series.i fairly don't understand the whole endevour, the story doesn't draw me in at all. the mechanics at first seem similar but somehow it's just a hassle, not engaging. & as the other reviewer wrote, it has only one difficulty level & a very narrow error margin, so it's rather just a puzzle game to get the things build & done as quickly as possible in the "right" order, which i find completely boring in a game. i will refund, even if it's just few bucks, but i know i won't be playing it.
